Catherine Westbrook has lived in Kingston Ontario for most of her life. Being the oldest city in Ontario it has a rich history that spans three hundred and thirty years and is the perfect place for a history buff such as her-self to live and learn about Canada’s past. She works for a non-profit organization whose main mandate is to educate the public on the importance of archaeology and the preservation of the past. It has been a wonderful experience and has given her a fresh new perspective on her writing.
She had often dabbled with the idea of writing, but never took it seriously until a life altering event made her realize that life is too short not to follow your dreams. Although kidney failure and several years of kidney dialysis was one of the biggest challenges she’s had to face, the experience has given her the determination and drive to write. In 2003 she underwent a successful kidney transplant, thanks to a donated kidney from her loving husband. She has since finished one manuscript and has a second one in the works.
