Membership Information

Membership into HHRW is limited to those whose genres fall into the historical romance area and are current members of Romance Writers of America.

We are a completely online chapter, conducting business and meetings by email and chats. Imagine a place where you can ask a question, and everyone will know you’re talking about historical romance. Research or marketing, craft or contest. You’ll get different opinions on how much historical detail to include, or how to approach your research. What to write. What is selling right now.

Benefits of membership include the Special Interest Groups (SIGs), covering different times and places. We also have critique groups, and our online newsletter, The Bard’s Scroll. Most importantly, we have support from fellow romance writers through brainstorming chats – A general list to ask questions and share triumphs, or seek encouragement when things aren’t going so well.

Chats: We have occasional chats for HHRW members at our chatroom and ongoing debates at our forums.

Courses: Check out our latest courses, open to members and non-members alike. We’ve visited English country houses, explored witchcraft, deep point of view, plotting …come take a look!

Romance through the Ages Contest: Every year we hold a contest specifically for historical romance. Check our contest page for more information.

New Membership Fee: $25.00 for one year.

Dues are not deductible as a charitable expense, but may be deducted as a business expense.

This fee is prorated based on the month that you join.
