About the Workshop
Want to supercharge your writing and finally get that story out of your head and onto the page? This energizing workshop borrows the best principles from the Write-a-Novel-in-30-Days method to help you set big goals, build better writing habits, and draft faster than you ever thought possible. Whether you’re working on a novel, short story, or nonfiction project, you’ll learn how to plan ahead, write without editing, and embrace the glorious messiness of a first draft. We’ll explore how to push yourself creatively, carve out time even in a busy life, and stay motivated through the ups and downs of a writing sprint. It’s all about progress over perfection. Perfect for writers at any level, this class offers practical tools, fresh energy, and the encouragement you need to hit your goals and maybe even surprise yourself. Come ready to write—and to prove just how much you can do!
The fundamental from Write-a-novel-in-30-days:
- Theme of push yourself, challenge yourself, be honest about your goals
- Focus on the length of a work, quantity over quality when drafting
- A right brain activity - write without editing
- Set big stretch goals
- Create a deadline for yourself
- Find the tiny windows of time to make writing a habit by setting new boundaries
- Creating a plan in advance of the actual writing
- Working on your personal motivation and execution using these techniques
