The title of this workshop by career historian and award-winning author Annie R McEwen derives from “un petit linge,” the first literary reference (1655) to a condom used for the prevention of pregnancy. While the workshop provides historical background, it focuses primarily on practical, creative, and literary strategies for contraception in the historical romance novel. In a Power Point lecture with illustrations, references, and more than a little humor, Annie will display all the ways writers can tackle this essential but sometimes evaded aspect of lovemaking in the past.
