Although there is always change from one decade to another, the Twenties went overboard. In the US things were tightened when prohibition outlawed alcoholic beverages and inadvertently opened the market for the various criminal groups to make money (and war) by selling bootleg booze. Women got the vote, but the thing that marks the Twenties is the rise of hemlines, the wildness of flappers who partied to jazz music and imbibed a lot of illegal alcohol at the Speakeasy.
It’s a world of danger, mystery, and romance offering a spinner of historical tales opportunities galore! So, join me for a stroll through the decade that set itself apart.
