The Magic of Staging: How the right detail adds drama to every scene – July ’25

Each scene is a mini-environment and we’re in charge of the staging. This two-week workshop will discuss often overlooked staging elements and decisions that can add oomph to our scenes. Will your breakup scene wield more power if it’s staged in a cozy kitchen or on the factory floor? Will a first kiss be more memorable if it’s staged in a small hot room or in a cold rain on an expansive beach? Daylight versus midnight? Quiet versus noisy? Are your characters turning up in the same places too often? Do you have other choices? We’ll take a look at individual scene environments and see how even slight shifts the staging can add power and drama.
